She was Beautiful

She was Beautiful

A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu
"

Trying to change my style..using this direct speech here

"
She was beautiful
but I couldn't see the moon on her face.
Or the Summer's day of Shakespeare
But her smile seemed to be an omni-present bliss.

She was beautiful for the way she thought
The way she perceived the world
the sparkle in her eyes ,
the graceful heavenly voice .

All heavens and hell,
and the angels and fairies
She felt the god in the little things
Unaware of her own divine powers

She wasn't just beautiful
for something as temporary as her looks
She was beautiful, deep down to her spirit.

I learnt to shine in her dazzle
And now I think I have lost myself
But maybe the light in her has faded indistinctly
Her familiar light might just fill me with the necessary breath.

She isn't just beautiful
for something as temporary as her frame of mind
She is blessed with eternal beauty, deep down to her soul.

I love how much thought you put into your poems. :D Although I admit that I don't review as much, and I apologise for that. This one though, was beautiful. Poetry is emotion in its best form, and you've proved that here. I liked the different style you've used here. Amazing job.

Shelving it. :)

thank u akshita :)
Very "up-in the air" if you get what i mean, i like it, but if you say you want to change your a style a bit, try grounding yourself a bit more, look more on the ground than the heavens and i think that's when you'll see a significant change in your overall style. Having said that i do like this piece and enjoy the direct approach you took, mixes well and adds dept to the longing that is expressed.

Thank you Inda...Sure will try to do that
I remember growing up as a young man and seeing the movie star Padmini on the silver screen. I think I fell in love with her. These days I can still recall the intensity of the passion. Your writings are certainly reminiscent of such a memory. Thank you.
