My Mind is in your PossessionA Poem by Balkaran SidhuYou don't come to my mind often, Only always, when I wake up from a dream thats about all that you do Filled with fascination and tender passion. I make new songs, even though I don't want them, I don't need them, they have no particular importance, of grieved words of my madness. Perhaps because, I no longer share the grand moments of your life But the imprint of you is still in me. You don't come to my mind that often Only when I pick my pen to softly write, our brief history of love. Filling my blank thoughts with love, love that nobody can take from me Not even angles and demons of manhood. Nothing has been broken, nothing could ever be You are the air and I am the breeze Its how I define our felicity. You don't come to my mind in timeless voids only when I breathe or live, I keep your shadow inside my brain Love is just a hopeless ornament that I wear now. It won't go away, or go dull, precisely The most unbearable grief And you won't feel it, its earthly for you It is mine, my possession like a turbid river. Your smile, I consistently dream of its my perceived heaven Its very often that your image shines in my vision It takes me into possession of loss, poverty Ardent verses of mine, never meant to be seen Broken yearnings mine to celebrate alone. My spells probe the future in secret Evening utterly blood red, where I must endure Without future appointments with you. Without news of how you left me I must carry a piece of you with me everywhere Memory, wounds, burns, that no body, But your tawny hands can set right.
