Gifts of AugustA Poem by Balkaran SidhuA bit vague..Summer has given a lot to you and taken a lot from my life Its how we celebrate our legacy of soft friendship, that's not valued anymore. My summer monument has no form No existence that I could keep But for sure it lives inside my mind. It was my love at the end of July that once became ours in September not stiff, not earthly but with soul For the two-thirds against the sky Our fates held our lives It was our hope, at August’s narrow start The view was geared, the care was destined To come home to a beloved ornament. And may so harsh, it took my life from me Sunny shadows buried love at uncharted places My moans, my mental disease I’m sorry for how I have loved you Purity, spirituality, devotion, unconditional But I lack the usual props of modern lovers. I am sorry for making such strong eternal bonds I have lost all my strength in redefining eternity Transparent but with petals of tenderness on your side. So I walk on my way of love "A true lover's course is not easy" with my heart in my hand, my beloved ornament In quest of new ways, forms of love that makes all sacrifice seem the most natural thing.
