As a Jewel Tossed AsideA Poem by Balkaran SidhuFor a lifetime, I had you Your heart, your soul And you saw me as the air that fills your bosom with life But I forgot that clinging isn't permanent These big houses rest alone with their memories The heart hangs in emotional adventures embracing the sky-falls, as it endures. Of all the times I had wanted To love you more than I knew or could! In your depths you were a restless vacillation. You kept me in constrained boxes But as a jewel you forgot to value me You never wore me and tossed aside as you found illusive diamonds You never appreciated My plutonium luminosity, wasted on you The insipid depravity of missing your voice When all I've known are the metaphors of my poems.
