A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu

With the patience of a silent ocean,

and the callousness of a vivid cloud

Your sudden flower tears at me inside

Caught in the scorpion guilt, the noble fire!

Tangled in your luscious power of feeling!

Instead of envy, I have chosen devotion

Instead of freedom, I have chosen Sovereignty in your thoughts

Instead of lust, I have collected passion for your hopes.

I can feel you running through me,

through veins, in blood of my spirit

A hymn that will never die

Your overwhelming angelic presence

Your hands have opened my delicate fists

into artistic fingers,that write

My fury of dream, my night of enduring hopes

They let me trace the mythology of your stars.
