I Too Adore These Summer Days

I Too Adore These Summer Days

A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu

Seasons go by in fizzles
like a departure of someone dearly loved
My soul breathing in the winds of dawn
Seeking Adulation of violet eternity.

I stand here in wise years
Appreciating the spring in the aura of nature
Touched by Traces of autumn
left in evening rays of sun.

Slow rain falling from complacent clouds
a genuine effort to breed beauty
Artistic sun blending in growing summer
Chirping stars rejuvenating the night

Fallen leaves flutter, an unfinished melody
Between dimness and lasting noon tides,
those uncoiled horizons hastening into festivity
The familiar suns of beloved summer.

I admire this transience
it reminiscence dips me in eternal love
for pride and joy of tender days
that we can never commemorate.

Not an uncommon theme in poetry the adoration of the seasons or nature, but you mange to put your own stamp on it.
Last stanza: try dropping the 'It' of the second line.

"My soul breathing in the winds of dawn

So many beautiful lines... Perhaps I should just say that this poem was amazing. (; I love your work! Keep writing!!

your word choices and where you place them make so many of your poems outstanding. You always manage to conjure a surreal mystical atmosphere. The theme is deep and portrays a wise writers hand. Very beautiful.

Bal, this is not about summer. Its not even about seasons. Its about the feeling of timelessness wonderfully expressed as the mood of seasons and of the mind of the observer set in a violet mind wondering about his violet eternity. Perhaps eternity is violet in color.

This is absolutely chalk full of intense and beautiful imagery. I love the ideas that you explored and then brought together in the last stanza (which I loved the most) that showed your admiration for reminiscence. All too often, we tend to forget the beauty of nature, and life itself, and it is nice to be reminded of this. Just walk outside and look...there is beauty everywhere.

I actually like these lines, but would edit:

I admire this transience, this
reminiscence that dips me in eternal love
