For my liberal offerings to you

For my liberal offerings to you

A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu

My best years of youth, pass in abberations
I think of love and life's solemn offerings
Intonated with blissful ease
My dreams from delectation tend to rise.

The dreary nights hunt material desires
With summer the devotion grows fragile
And yet as virtues of promised land
my love stands inconceivable.

And then I waver between past and future
Carrying the hopes of orphans
I think of how detested this world is
And how much care my enervated eyes still have to offer.

I wonder at my innocence
and laugh on my altruistic offerings
But why mourn,
I shall not keep a woman in my heart again.
