Odes to my land

Odes to my land

A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu

Rays gleam atop the horizon
the east coast's  light now dims
Evening's  crawlers slink from reddish hue,
as the last ray of the orange king sustains.

Secrets beneath the lights,
the soothing breeze brushing my leaves
with misty clouds left destitute
in the land of souls turned waste.

The moon's  bright circle will climb
The arteries of the channeled constellations
Incoherent splendor of stars,
unfathomable  by the naked eyes

I can feel the soft fields,of alluvial
Of springs flower aura ensconced in my chest
Submissive to woo eternity,
those birds flying to Paradise

I thank my omnipotent prince
I am in his orbit, under his shade
In high blue seas of sunbeams
where Himalayas keep an eye on the tide

I am a blue blood in nature's grace
staring at the awe of grand eves,
of rainbows, and the gods we make
As I lie subdued in the divine lap of my mother.

I simply loved this romance a bit different from other pieces.
The moon's bright circle will climb

The arteries of the channeled constellations

Incoherent splendor of stars,

unfathomable by the naked eyes

Beautifully expressed what heart feels naked eyes cannot see. A lovely piece here!!!

Amazing job!; and the wording was perfect to go with your style here, especially in the awe of how the world is seen through celestial connections. It's easy to see deep inner consideration of the atmospherical world here, and all with very cultural ideals. Thankyou for writing, I enjoyed reading! ^.^

at first I thought that this place might have an imaginary land, a utopia of some sort, but then you speak of the Himalayas and I realise that this is a mighty fine, mystical tribute and observation of your homeland, very well done

A book of faith that moves from page to page in a blithe portrayal of acceptance. It touched a nerve in me that used to question the very source of faith that I had loved and adored. However in the face of a big physical loss we turn on that source of faith.

Your poem helps the reader consider the possibility that the fault may not be with the source of faith. Its divine bal.

This poetry is very much a peek into your culture and shows a unique yet universal projection of love.
