We taste the fragarence as we pass

We taste the fragarence as we pass

A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu

I surrender honestly to this day
an authentic place for our musings
where I saw you in the petals of beauty
in the finest garments of my phrasings

It was not in the autumn
where our poetry of love was cast,
It was the time of roses
When we tasted the fragrance as we passed.

Those seasons  which never frowned
Showering bliss on early lovers yet
The world seemed as newly crowned
With flowers when first we met.

I cherished the light under your highs
As a  rose arose with summertime,
Where opal and sapphire once hung
That moistened my heart with songs sublime.

We celebrated the feelings for another day,
lifted our hearts, so full of gloom,
Breathing and feasting on the world,
And fused the air with our love's perfume.

It was the time of eclipse ,we had to part,
like the broken pieces of glass
Here we are,its the time of roses
We  taste the fragrance as we pass.

it seems there is no shortage of wonderful romance poets on here of late, and i must count you among those , for certain. dazzling imagery and some very well used metaphor make for a stunning write, word usage not withstanding!

I could smell the fragrant blossoms of love here.
You penned beautifully the flowering and maturing of two hearts finding a warmth to grow towards. I think the reference to glass is out of place here. I would have thought winter's ice... The shattered surface of frozen bliss... Might be more with your theme.
Well done otherwise.

Ahh nostalgia, always a favorite; love the eclipse reference at the end, we meet our lovers in one spot and we are seamless together, almost one.
and then we separate completely, like an eclipse.
Great piece!

And I think that you did it rather well my friend, you are clearly a born romantic..You DO nee to convert A into AN on the second line though..An easy oversight..I do it all the time
