When your mighty dreams stole you from me

When your mighty dreams stole you from me

A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu

I was an appeased soul

living in the isolation of my modesty

far from the alluviums of love.

And then came you

with the nimbleness that I could

never cradle,never contemplate.

My heart embraced you

clutched the beauty hiding in you

Your rapturous presence taught me of love

The slice of inconceivable gifts.

And then we felt each others' hearts

in the periphery of our chests

Like an eternal spectator

I let you glaze onto my delusion.

In your eyes and your unceasing heart

was my future burning

flickered by your mighty dreams!

You knew not the spouse of your goals and lords.

You called my love as the novelty of adulation,

but the splendor of my essence,

The darling purity of my devotion,

to you, is yet to be tasted.

I grew wise with age and pain

And now I smile at the life's triumphs

As I live alone in the company of my silent words.
