Let my heart confine my muse to my poetry

Let my heart confine my muse to my poetry

A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu
"

2012...not quite over!

"
I have been misled by my earthly emotions!
My words have been directed on your grace
and all I have done is,to praise your beauty.

My heart now sinks everyday
every moment,my own words cause me distress
I am left sipping my own tears
As I search for the remedy, that is to forget you,
my distressed mistress.

In the distant time, I shall recognize you differently
For what I called you,
I was not allowed to call you!
I felt for you
what I shouldn't have felt
and I should have known
that you're just a princess of your own mind
and am not a prince something, but a bard.

The same old hopelessness lurks,
The haunted sense,
The fear that you would find me counterfeit
Not believing in my little sacrifices
my little deeds for the one and only love.

I know it would be tough
to swallow the unfulfilled dreams
All the castles that I built in dark
they will be robbed from me
All our bridges have to be burned down.

The solitudinal purities of my heart,
now shall remove love's crown,
and must learn to live, the way it lived,
not so long ago
and let confine my muse to my poetry.

A refining of loves goal through single minded purpose.
I dont usually like lovey dovey stuff... unless it is done tastefully, and this is quality work and so my cold hard heartedness melted as i read. You have a real gift my friend. Enjoyed.

How beautiful, it flows like sweet wine as it tells a story of solitude and loneliness.

Some poets are inspired by themselves and some can see themselves more clearly through the eyes of another. Either which way, we all need a muse. I suppose the trick is to keep them at arms length. Poetry is a very lonely art...
This was fantastic. Yes, let me confine my muse(s) to poetry. Very nicely done!

without the benefit of a worthy muse poetry is a lonely and unappreciated venue. still, we press on in earnest, each with our own motivations and reasons. well done, poet!

People sometimes do not appreciate the sacrifices and the poetry...we abide alone...

sounds as if you loved someone but was not allowed to interact with the loved one and you kind of gave a false sense of you and are afraid of the loved one finding or maybe she already found out or maybe your just a little paranoid about situations between the two of you. Things like this tend to happen in everyday living as well. Its rough knowing all the truly good things you've done you will not receive credit for or it doesn't matter and you hate to see bridges burned between you two, but i could be way off . as always keep writing fellow writer
