Bienvenue Winter

Bienvenue Winter

A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu
"

Although thy breath be rude...

"
I saw the blizzards by the horizon
the glassy ice and the powdered snow,
Frost, hail, sleet and all else that is frozen
I am thrilled as the winter starts to grow.

So I run through the diamond mist
the overjoy shakes me with grace
the heaven has brought me the blist
and I just love the feel of chill on my face.

The viscous time has kept me waiting
the days of sun have been long
now the sky is bringing the winter delights
taking me to where I belong.

The joy in my heart is ablaze
and it's keeping me warm
The secret power of spindrift white
The strength of extravagance of the snowstorm.

A gelid blast of Himalayan air
has caught me in amazement
Reinforcing my desires to live
Rejuvinating me with graupel scent.

And as the nights become long
I embrace my spiritual attire
Of warming solitude
my joyful hymn,my festive choir.

What a wonderful way to celebrate the joys of winters- elegantly written. it makes me quite homesick- as I now live in a place where it never snows. But you brought back some warming memories. Great form, enticing detail with a nice easy flow. Thank you for sharing this uplifting and heartfelt piece.

This is full power style of expressing in great details. Great work!

The words of your poem conjure images of sparkling ice and snow. In the second verse, third line you use the word 'blist'. Did you mean 'bliss'? No big deal. I like the way your poem flows, with good balance in each verse.

Definitely your love for winter has been well portrayed here beautifully....a lot of people always paint how beautiful summer is from winter but this here you've done it oppositely and beautifully. Well written.

Again, I was immediately caught up and swept away! But I liked it! ;)
You must continue writing!
My favorite season is autumn, by the way. :)

Owl City often writes songs about the summer nights. You, my friend, are quite the opposite. Where I come from, all the seasons are taken to the extreme. In summer, it's extreme heat, often hotter than Death Valley. In winter, it's extreme cold. I love the snow. I love the fall especially. But I also love the flowers of spring. I love the summer nights as well. Keep writing! 100/100
