Prayers for you

Prayers for you

A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu

With an enlightened soul
I wake up in the morning hue
my lips move to say
a morning prayer for you.

In the middle of the day
when I feel your pain
my heart stops beating momentarily
just to pray for you again.

All the gods I know
I call them, with all my heart
for this storm of unluck to pass
for the breeze of comfort to start.

I am a friendly mirror
who will deflect all my blessings to you
I will take your troubles upon me
will never let them accrue.

For prayers and love are all I have
So at times I declare
May the lord give all your pains to me
With all the colours, your life shall flare.
