The death of a poetA Poem by Balkaran Sidhu
On a road going into the desert
she walks, with her will unbound her feet heavy, her smile lost in the pale sand lying around. There she sees a grave the place where now he rests He was tired of the love the love that tests. Alas ! that pen has fallen that wrote down tears of her misery Oh he went away silently No goodbyes,no dismissory. He sleeps in there With all his blossoming hopes unharvested His joys ungarnered all his songs unsung And all his tears unshed. And as she tries to weep the heat of the sun dries her tears her heart mourns on the loss of him with him,his smiles and cheers. No tree under which she can sit now no leaf which can give her shade She lost someone dear to her The memories of whom will never fade... © 2012 Balkaran SidhuAuthor's Note
