The summer of 2012A Poem by Balkaran SidhuThis piece is very closely related to me
Never thought... summer could bring so many memories
So many ecstasies it could give. This month of sun was never so beautiful in these deserts where I live. May brought hard times the heat and the mirages tested me but I willed through the duststorms the hot winds my biggest enemy. And June came with new hopes new chances, new choices I found a friend, walking down the lone street among chirping birds and sweet voices. July opened up my heart I found some love in dry mud the misty air electrified my soul I wrote about love with my own blood Here I am in the middle of August and I mourn at the loss of time, at sight of the failure of my youth I wrote goodbye poems Yet I couldn't face the heavy truth. But summer hasn't gone yet May be it just fused into the rain the humidity of my sorrows are hard to bear But I need the breeze of love to fix this pain. © 2012 Balkaran Sidhu |
