This loss can't be repaid

This loss can't be repaid

A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu
"

Father mourns on the loss of his son...

"
I stand before a vision,so dreadful
knees weakened and shoulders weighted
becoming regretful for I questioned
what God had since fated.

I only have a picture now
A frozen piece of time
To remind me of how we were
When you were mine.

I used to see your smiling eyes
Each morning when I woke
I talked to you,kissed you
you were my chap,my little bloke.

The god took you away from me
It was like my worst nightmare, that came true in the day
The ache is deep inside my heart
And its never going away

If only they had asked me
If I would take your place
I would have done so willingly,my son
Leaving you this world to grace.

You should have had so much more
to watch your life unfold
And in the amidst of this
Watch me and your Mother grow old

This loss is so heavy
It can't be repaid
Oh God you have taken everything from me
But his memories will never fade...

Totally felt it here...there's nothing worse than losing a child to a parent, usually very devastating...well written

What a tragedy. Parents are not supposed to bury their children. My father commited suicide Nov.18,2005. It's a scar that never heals. What a nice way to honor his young life with this poem.

oh am really sorry to hear that...indeed tym can heel the wounds...but the scars...they neva go
to die by suicide is such a tragic experience, in spite of that, you have written something very appropriate, the ending so fitting "But his memories will never fade..."

difficult to come to terms with is suicide, especially when it was a loved one. i have been down that path many times and it is difficult to reconcile and make peace. the bible speaks of eternal damnation for that act, i hope it is not so

Oh how terrible. That is so young...his life had barely started. It is very clear how you mourned for his death.
