The sun beats down on meA Poem by Balkaran Sidhu
With my bare-feet
As I walk that lonely street The sun beats down on me my skin burns from the heat. And I am sinking in my own sweat every footstep is a consious effort my heart is heavy, eyes wet The gravity looks to be harsh on me but no turning back now, can't revert. So as I look for some shade I am walking into the woods so that sunshine can fade and these trees can form my hoods. And the forests are getting darker and deeper Cause with every footstep,I can hear louder, the songs of the peeper. But no proper shade found yet cause even a ray beats me so I can only wait for sunset.. I am feeling those winds too from the depth of the woods they pierce my chest still miles of walk left before I find some place to rest.. © 2012 Balkaran Sidhu |
