It's Been a Long Day

It's Been a Long Day

A Poem by Rachael Reina

It's Been a Long Day

There are fairies flitting about,

ome tall andthin, others short and stout.

They sit around my yard and house,

Torturing my dog, my cat, my fish, even my poor little mouse.

Then there's the tiny green goblins under my car!

Sometime at night they venture out but never very far.

In the mornings I try to shoo them away,

But I've given up so I suppose they can stay.

Let's not forget the brownies who steal all my jewelry

I tire of them easily and all their tomfoolery.

They like shiny things and I can't balme them, I can't!

But it peeves me the way they laugh at me when I holler and rant.

And last but not least there's the troll in the basement,

He's so tall and so wide I suppose it's more like an encasement.

He's large but he's harmless, wouldn't hurt a fly,

But he doesn't go anywhere because he isn't that stealth or that sly.

It's been a long day with all these creatures hanging around,

All I want is a night with no problems and if possible no sound.

So off I go to bed,

Cross your fingers that I can get all of these crazy characters out of my head.
