A Dream Of A Little Girl

There is a little girl ever full of silly themes Celebration and festivals invade her dreams She lives fairy tales in her imaginary province Her fantasy is loving a tall handsome prince The pretty princess was a STICKLER for looks in perfection A mole on her lip was just a SPECK on her pretty complexion She wanted her true love story to be DOCUMENTED in bold Tales of her blissful love to be beautifully PAINTED in gold Her marriage ceremony was held in CONSUMMATE grandeur  No PLASTIC flower was visible in that big celebration for sure  All invites were creatively crafted in bright COPPER red  font An emblem of giant CROW welcomed the guests in the front Wine and music gave the audiences the much-needed KICK The chocolate DESSERT served made everyone lick and lick   Exactly then, the ringing alarm hurts the girl's little  ears And the breaking of a fantastic dream brings a few tears

This one flows much better from my perspective, and has a kind of fairytale tone and theme. Proving that while dreams are wonderful little moments, reality soon confronts and brings one crashing back to Earth.

A nicely written piece, Bala. My choice of your two entrants in this particular contest, even though such a restrictive contest is not to my liking.

WOW! As far as 10-word exercises go, your words are so complex & well-used! I'm very impressed! Also, congrats on winning one of the prizes of this contest! I was so engrossed in your description of the fantasy wedding, I was then very jolted to get to the final couplet where the dream crashes. I love the way you did that, becuz I'm not too crazy about romantic fantasies that are mostly about THINGS rather than FEELINGS. This is a subtle way to make that point without being critical of the many people who dream in terms of possessions rather than blessings! (((HUGS)))

As for the poem, incorporating the words plastic and crow in the theme was challenging as crow is not an auspicious bird and plastic would not be used at that time. And it had be from the little girl's dream.I am glad you liked it. It means a lot to me.

This is so refreshing write to read. Original and very warm poem. The way you have elaborated the dream of that little girl using those 10 words is really beautiful. I could visualize this dream and could feel her emotions. Every word is beautifully inserted displaying the depth of word play. Beautifully crafted piece of poetry.

When you are having a beautiful dream, you feel so sad when you wake up from that dream.
In the same way there are some people who are actually living their dreams. Imagine what happens to them when when they are jolted and they find their dream vanishing before their very eyes.

I get what you are saying Sir, and I agree too. May be the feeling must devastating when living dreams vanish into thin air.
For the silent ones dreams could be their like partners. They live on clinging to their dreams, weaving new ones once they get fed up with the old ones.. And a secret journey goes on for the dreamy ones..
