The Ultimate Ultimatum

The Ultimate Ultimatum

A Poem by Bala Gorthi
"

Sun yells at the blue planet

"

My dear blue ball,

I burn and burn to keep you warm
And to brighten your big dark farm
I send millions of brilliant sunny rays
But I am shaken up by your funny ways

You bulged in the middle, I did not meddle
You tilted your axis, I could not handle
What those high arrogant mountains show
To those deep valleys, I just want to know

Your silly acts all with those funny names
Quakes and tsunamis are your dirty games
Seeing the cries and tear loaded saline lakes
My warm red heart shakes with mighty aches

Even more stupid are your human devils
Hating, hurting, killing, they are full of evils
Wars, explosions bring many death parlors
Tell me, why they paint those horrible colors

If you and your humans don't change your ways
I shall scorch your blue to brown in coming days.

I loved the opening verses describing the anomalies that have created the structure of Earth.
Then I read this as a warning against polluting the earth and destroying it by global warming. You followed this contemplating the destruction of mankind from its own greed, intolerance and cruelty.
In considering so many facets in a relatively short poem with such clarity you have produced such a
powerful poem,Bala. Excellent!

Thank you grayscale, for such amazing words for this write. Your visit is appreciated.
yes, for sure, even more stupid...what the humans do...there are cycles of nature...there are events which cause destruction, but the planet heals itself with the help of that wonderful sun...

but the humans just destroy without a second thought.

This is something one must read...
Whole description is brilliant. Especially, your idea of writing from the sun's perspective to the earth describing the evils of the earth and finally ending with a warning from sun seems fabulous...

You are welcome :)
Sun and Earth...I love the idea and its implementation. Original and something to contemplate on! I am inspired to write something like this now may be on a completely different topic.
I love the funny angle you brought in second stanza:
You bulged in the middle I did not meddle
You tilted your axis I could not handle
What those high arrogant mountains show
To those deep valleys, I just want to know
Last two lines had the ultimatum impact...
This is splendid one, B :-)
Keep it up.

Great poem about a pesky topic. I'd like to hear the Blue Ball respond to the sun to tell him to look at himself. Dear Big Giant 100 times my size with your solar winds and dark spots, you play a bigger part in this than we want to see, don't put this all on me.
Just a thought that your poem stirred up. Good!
