Goodbye

Goodbye

A Poem by Bala Gorthi
"

Words of a depressed soul

"

Something is burning
Mind has gone blank
Feeling fumes
In those hairy veins.

A group totally engrossed

Watching a sport

I hear their voice.
Where am I?
What's the purpose?
It feels so itchy.
Should I leave now?
I hold no value.
Nothing holds value.
Mood says goodbye.

Suddenly, someone knocks
with million dreams in eyes
needing a guidance.
I say, no meaning man
Just go away.
It’s my pack up time.
I hear some noise
Boys jubilate in the yonder
In celebration of a victory
What Victory?
Again those Itchy edges
In my mind.
Mood says goodbye.

But then, through the window I see
An old sick man of neighborhood
Fetching some fruits for his wife
He is fighting so hard in his life.
From here, I scream.
All no meaning

Don’t you get tired?
Why are you pushing so hard?
Just bid a goodbye

But behind those pale eyes

I saw his love for life

Living for someone

Grand salute and

Kudos to you old man

I hold no art and

Add no value to life
My mind is useless
Let's swap our bodies
Serve your need
This useless soul in a useful body
Swap it, man.

I go, goodbye

A life without meaning om the one hand tries to make sense of those who find myriad reasons to live and even the old man who has but one reason to live.
Sources of inspiration abound - all around - but like a hardened sponge the speaker cannot absorb any longer due to the despression.
Sad but relatable Bala.
Well penned.

Bala, this sets a heaviness upon me. It is so sad... depression is certainly like this, unseeing/clouded, valueless.
I wished he seen and realised the beauty instead of swapping.
Beautiful writing Bala as always. R xo

Damn, this one is really sad. I wish the person instead of swapping could realize the worth and beauty of life. The title is really saddening. You have nicely described here the state of a depressed mind. I love the way you presented this thought. I really liked this one, B !
