The Poet's Biopsy

The Poet's Biopsy

A Poem by Bala Gorthi
"

It’s an ode to the word “Family”

"

I the thinker started it one day,

What my soul contained in its bay?

A thousand samples were collected.

Oh my, my, someone cheated.

My one was not one, but a threesome four.

A trio entwined my tiny core.

There must be a foul.

Adulteration in the soul's sole!

Biopsy progressed and reached the teeniest.

It's again the three on the fore.

How can one be won by three and be a four?

Will you believe?

The LS, CS and all sections done.

They show the three entwining and invading the one.

How?

The souls I love,

The souls that love,

Covered in the costume called family,

Persuaded The Almighty, to change the rules finally,

For filling my one with the Trinity,

And bringing the love in its infinity.

I smile at the revelation,

And then comes the jubilation.

This might be one of the most imaginative ways to write about the way we carry the Holy Trinity inside & how it informs every move we make, every thought we think, every dissection of our lives, we can see evidence of how the Holy Trinity has played out a plan that's regardless of whatever plans we thought we were making. Frankly, I had to read this twice to capture a few more nuances . . . I'm sure I didn't get all of them, becuz I'm not good at catching heavily nuanced messages. But I certainly did feel the main message & the playfulness with which you told it. I love it when writers play with words such as your: "soul's sole" . . . and "how can one be won" . . . this is the kind of crafting that adds an extra spark to a message.

I love the bouncy rhythm in which you wrote this, which aids the more serious undertones of the words - overall, a pleasure as always to read!

Thank you for reading and appreciating this poem. :-):-):-)
No matter what the message you convey, I find beauty in this piece, of infinite learning and understanding, knowing when to listen and when to speak, for love and affinity know when to be heard and when to listen. the three four I see as the family you later speak of, perhaps partner plus two, or perhaps a more open expanse, ie, parents and child, but for arguments sake, let m=us say I am right with the first...Your words celebrate, yes celebrate the affinity between others and rejoices in it, it is really is superfluous of me to dig for meaning when I already understand what you are saying, that it is the poet doing the biopsy and being blessed at the outcome. That is what I captured in your words....If wrong, it is still a most beautiful thought.

Family, nothing more important than familial relationships. They form our personalities at a young age and stay with us always. We love them even with all their faults. Lovely. Lydi**
