Chaser of Shadows

For those who were too afraid..

A scent of perfume,

A brief look in your face

A few stolen glances,

Are all that I can afford of you

A slight speeding of the beat of my heart

A few more breaths taken

Sweaty palms clench into a fist

Shutting themselves from the world and you

Walking the path of loneliness

I look only at your shadow

I follow only your footprints

I have made my choice
