Mobile Love

Mobile Love

A Poem by Empress Ophelia

I was told that he was supposed to see the world through me,

But every morning he sees the world through his mobile phone.

Grab my hand,

Come join me to smell the trees and the flowers,

The lilies are so brilliant.

I just wanted him to touch the water,

Be he is afraid of my oceans depth.

Standing too close to the water puts him at risk of extinction.

a tsunami.

So he stands back

And pulls out his mobile love.

My biggest fear in life

Is to one day not be strong enough to face them.

Especially the most crucial ones.

I have been working on this fear of mine.

I reach for the clouds on most evenings

And when the day is gone and the birds have nested

The shape of him is there,

And his compassion left weeks ago.

My skin might shatter,

And even Sometimes when I sleep

I feel the blood leaving my body.

But instead he grabs his T- shirt and gently cleans the shiny glass on his mobile phone.

Does he love me?

Or is this his love.

I've seen it before

I see the symptoms of a man

Who watches other peoples world instead of living in his own.

I'm right here.

I’ll give you the gold

I’ll feed you the most expensive caviar in the world.

Just look at me.

Please.

Love, B.

You know my love,

My head talks to me all day too.

So I turn off the beeping of my notifications,

And I kiss your lips.

This is what's real...and real is good.

Its raw, but good.

He sucks the soul out from under my chest,

& I tried to give him a gentle hug around the waist.

He told me I was being too needy and reminded me to put my clothes back on.

I just gave him my love,

I thought this was sacred.

He flips over and searches

For the love he has with his mobile phone.

Im here

Just look at me.

Please

Love, B.

I challenged your Beast today, My Love.

I crawled inside of a cave to find the thing you’ve been missing.

The scratches and bruises are supposed to B...

Well,

A token of my love.

I lay there lifeless in hopes that one day I will B just as important as your Mobile Phone.

Look at me.

Love, B.

So nice to see that people realise the impact that it has in their lives the mobile phone -it’s separates and causes pain, sad that it’s controlling so many, but to be able to feel and see so deep is a real blessing, well written 😝

You perfectly sum up today's 21st century generation addicted to their phones and not focused on the conversation at hand, the relationship to be worked on by two, the eyes of love that seek a reciprocal stare...
We mis-use technology to the detriment of everything we hold dear.
On Youtube I saw a true tragic accident of a woman walking on the sidewalk with her little child. Instead of holding on tight to the child who is more precious than all of the planet's phones combined, she was so wrapped up in her phone, she failed to notice the little child drift towards the main road and hit and killed by a fast driving vehicle.

WELL DONE Empress

Hell yea. Thats a poem alright. I like the clarity of your voice. You didn't let choice of words or structure get in the way of a lyrical message. It emotes without pretension. Well done.

I agree with the message of this poem so, so, so, so much. I think that phones and social media can be wonderful to rally people around a good cause, but it can also cause people to concentrate on a mindless addiction rather than the real, important people in their life. I love your poem and the message you share with it.

This is a sad truth about the world today. People have their heads down looking at the world through their man mad wonders instead of looking up to see the world around them for themselves. It's a pity. The world is a much more beautiful place looking through your own eyes
