"Waiting"A Poem by BaileyMostly about someone I know...Seconds tick-tock by; tides change.
Sands drip through the hourglass; the earth revolves.
Digital numbers flick through their sequence; people are born and people die.
You tell me you're waiting, waiting for your life to begin.
You say now doesn't count; wait until you're older and out of this godforsaken place.
You say you can't wait to live, truly live - - the way you dream of.
You say, "Wait until the day that they can't hold me back anymore."
But I'm confused - -
If you're waiting for your life to start,
