"I cry"

Over-emotional person that I am...

Everything is wrong.

My world's falling apart.

There's a screaming inside,

ripping my heart.

 

And I cry.

 

Explosive events,

in one little night.

The tears are flowing,

that I cannot fight.

 

So I cry.

 

I try to be strong,

for the ones that I love.

Underneath I'm breaking,

but I'm smiling above.

 

Silently I cry.

 

I try to hide

behind my mask

that normally works - -

tonight can't do the task.

 

And I cry.

 

Held in for so long,

I release them now.

They flow so swift,

in salt I write now.

 

Still I cry.

 

Gasping for breath,

I shudder and sob.

Try to close the door,

can't unstick the knob.

 

Forever I cry.

I wrote this poem after a really terrible night at a school dance. Thing is, I wasn't the one with the problems. It was my friend.
