This love hurts.

This love hurts.

First draft. It probably makes no sense. Comments about everything and anything please!

This love hurts.

We could be something special.

We could be forever; you and I, you and I.

But we can't.

Because invisible boundaries established long ago mean

that if I lose you.

I lose everything.

And it can't. It can't.

Jealousy; it hurts me. Envy; it cripples you.

What could have been?

One year left, we've got nowhere to run.

And we can't.

We can't.

Hands in hair, fingers interlinked, staring, speaking, softly, wishing it could be different.

Never knowing what the other is thinking.

It feels so right being in your arms.

But pretending to be oblivious.

It is meaningless.

Your jagged heart scoring mine.

It mustn't.

So it would all go on in a haze of nothing-ness.

We would leave, forever.

Never knowing what could have been. Always wishing, hoping, thinking.

But then there's someone else

And then the bottom falls out of my world.

True love and true friendship should not go hand-in-hand.

Is it worth the risk?

One must take those chances

The human mind is twisted. We could swim in paradise of a sweet love and still wonder if we are in the right place. I believe love is giving everything without fear of loss or possible grief. Your poem dance on the possibility of love. Old wise saying. Take no chances. Have no memories to made you smile when you are old and gray. It is worst the risk. A excellent poem.
