SkullA Poem by Poe Reddateehee. guess why im happy. just wrote an unhappy poem. 8DDoor opens emmitting holy-night souls giving shadow to a frozen moment of fear cut-ragged eyes chagrined smile beneath her chin sliding a leer over the petrified pair the children vied to touch her skin wan and flaking from a gunmetal skull their clean fingers froze midflight her broken eyes came alight with a fire inside humming a tune of suicide the sensible parents rushed to stand as quivering pillars before their innocent young a tongue of fire slipped between her filed teeth and speaking hertofore, a foreward thrust of her corpse and her bones lay on the floor soaking in the growing inferno she spew through the door the family flew the father unfortunate protective last in line look to the skull in the firebed on the kitchen floor as she croaks "God help her but her soul is with me" and then horns she grew silver and curved and reaching for him.
Expecting the house to catch the devilish fever witnissed within its walls the family still huddles across the street when a frozen pink morning falls and no smoke they saw the house appeared safe and so the father stood and ventured alone to see the damage and demon corpse no ash, no smell, nothing burned to black bits no body, not all of it anyway grasping the table leg with silver horns the skull stares cold over his shoulder with what looks like her hand in her mouth "What soul would nest in such a skull?" he pried it loose and tossed it out pretending now not like that night had been a nightmare but like it'd been a sin they could have lived without. © 2012 Poe ReddAuthor's Note
