Come At Me With Your Words

Come At Me With Your Words

A Poem by Poe Redd
"

...

"

Walking away from this bland reality

From everything I have been told

Walking away from hope and comfort

And walking to where it is cold

Now come at me with your words, Angel

Come at me with your words

Reassurances or lies, Angel

Take them from the folds

Of your flower-patterned dress, Angel

Drop them on my heart

I fear that since you left me, Angel

My mind's been coming apart

I wish to put it back together

But I just don't know how to start

So come at me, tell me about me

Make my sulking seem absurd

I am sitting where there is no warmth

Now come at me with your words

Come at me with your words, this is a sweet poem especially with the repeat of Angel, A pleading for dialogue from that cold empty space where she no longer dwells..................enjoyed :O)

While I sensed a certain weakness in the narrator's voice, I felt there was also energy and the thought of retaliation. Yet, for some reason I feel that isn't the entire point or the point altogether. Haha, maybe I'm just thinking too hard. It was a cool poem though, that last line had me pumped!
