Beautiful Broken DayA Poem by Poe Reddduring the drive through Mexico
twelve did die
the mountain said with no respect for lines and headlights glare now and the sun's disappeared has the sun really left us? tucked away between the mountains and was that a thank you? mountains that, minutes ago, stretched their necks to glimpse the sun in evanescence mountains become the clouds slower she whispers her hair turning grey but the light is slipping away we're wound up in fear and he goes so fast pitting machine against distance divided by time that no number does the stress justice unless it is one second holding still.
