Once, SheA Poem by Poe Reddfirst poem after coming out of my poetry-fast.
Once the tree fell she was stunned into submission
Upon a stone we sat in the shining star, painted by me Time lapsed in pixels; her heart arrived at my door In a heartbeat imposter witches into a prince, howling Land of the ocean a carpet of moon for one soul and my demon- all lipstick and contacts, mist Not far we traveled in my absense, her hand sticky in our sleep of grey skies sheet metal, hammer in my hand Enough feeling for the lies to bleed and heal her To end a loneliness in silent storms that last forever Her fingers pulling the chords that disassemble her system Bleeding heart a personal invitation to a die-painful dance To correct her pleas, put the ice on her tongue Betray a soul breathing in a cold sex Teasing the child when I am nothing but exactly what she is Love in him exactly what I am- her. © 2013 Poe ReddAuthor's Note
