Softly the StoneA Poem by Poe Reddafter birth- wishes and the taste of life for realwhen mother bid me
live safely and in her arms I prayed to all I knew alive pink and dying already crying my song in silent night but mostly silent heaven granted mother gold all that was humanly possible blossomed inside tainted gold and she tasted and I tasted what life wanted in me slipping sands in my growing hourglass it was delicious we will sin but I could not outward touch on her kindness kill and then scar by swallowing no choice but to grow with a world that hates swallow softly the stone a heart would harden all along mother knew it would do so © 2012 Poe ReddAuthor's Note
