Draw

Draw

A Poem by Ralphy

Draw

I stepped out onto the canvas
on this last day of April,
as the drones of water
saturated the ground
creating mounds of chocolate
colored soil, rich for the taking
but better to use as the floor
in this still of a image that smears
across an unsmooth surface
where a war with the sun
fights to emerge the victor.

The grayness has warped
my senses and I watch the droplets
of translucent water
create many shades of colors
that scooted across as images
of trees and plants sprouting,
awaiting for some form of clarity
that would master the essences
of spontaneous magic
that only masteries could unveil.

Shades of green and red,
fire from the soil below
as the yellow blaze, kisses the sky,
connecting with the world below
and in the heat of passion,
the embrace of passive love
comes a foyer of colors
that shout off at the canvas
as the sparks of life arcs
into creation
leading into the month of May

At first I took every thing literal in this poem and became very confused, BUt then I realized, this isn't some science fiction type poem. It's a description of nature, spring. And there it was, everything made sense. Lol. I mean, my favorite part was when it speaks of the drops of water creating so many different colors. Beautiful imagery. Good job. This is the first piece I've read from you so I hope they're all this ingenious.

I love spring. This piece makes me love it even more. :) The images in this poem are clear, vivid, and alive. The picture pops write off the screen. ^_^ And even better, it was a very tranquil, calm poem. It made me relax as I was reading. Great job Ralphy, as always.
