I'll Find You

I'll Find You

A Poem by Ralphy

I’ll Find You

Along a tiring old road,
in the heat of the afternoon,
as I passed the wheat field,
I came across a simple little rock,
 lying barren in my path…

With a swift kick of my foot,
the rock took off and flew,
seemed to float forever;
flooding the air with dust
that fogged my view
before landing right
back where I kicked it from…

As I gazed down
at my newfound friend,
I saw it split in half
and inside was a golden vein
that conceals a map
with a silver key

Carefully, each step
 followed the bright lines
that took me into bushes,
over a mountain
and across a babbling creak…

Before me was a small cottage
covered in ivy
surrounded by long yellow
and red stem roses,
white tiger lilies
accented by the ocean lining the sky…

Above the door embroider
in gold these words to treasure…
Welcome Home, please stay awhile

Brings me back to travelling up to my grandfather's cottage.. loved it up there.. the cottage was more of a fishing cottage but pure wilderness.. fish and boat all day long.. now that is the feeling your poem gave me!!!! =)
