Not a Myth

Not a Myth

A Poem by Ralphy
"

Another day obseving at the doctor's office

"

Not a Myth

Again, I observe and watch what I can see

Of all those people that surround me…

Each person different, like a golden snowflake

Each a story that will make your heart ache

Each face a noticeable smile and a unwanted frown

Each expresses their feelings without an audible sound

Each cries in the night alone in a darken room

Each smiles in the day although the problems still loom

Some think they’re pretty, some think they’re not

Some think the world has an infused plot

Some think they’re smart, some think they’re dumb

Some think the world thinks they’re just a bum

That was my observation that they think I see

Fortunately, for me, I work off a different creed

I see your heart, soul and the good portions of your mind

It’s not cracked, evil or displaced in a fragment of time

Everything you have seen, heard, or come in contact with

is a part of your mind, body and soul, that is not a myth

I really like the rhyme and meaning in this poem. There's a grammar error in the line "Some think the world thinks they're just a bums". I believe should be "bum". We so often judge people by hteir appearance, we forget that there's something behind that appearance that connects us all. A lovely piece, and thanks for sharing. :)

What beautiful sentiments! I love it! A knowing that everyone you meet has their own story to tell, their own beauty, their own struggles they've conquered. What a great perspective to have. The world needs more Ralphys in it!

Perception is in the eye of the beholder for the surface only reveals so much, everyone is different but the same... a great observation wrapped up in magnificent poetic form.

Matters who is looking and what they are looking for, if anything at all.
