An Emotional Masterpiece

An Emotional Masterpiece

A Poem by Ralphy
"

For all those hearts that reachout to the world

"

An emotional masterpiece

Your diary, words to your hidden soul

Secret emotions melt into gold

These chapters will surrender and touch

About the heartaches you suffer so much

Your heart so lonely, and full of pain

Not an ounce of water, no sign of rain

I see the purity as it beats through

I wait and then, get a little closer to you

Reaching my hand to cup your heart

Feel your blood pumping like a work of art

I grab a tear from that trusty old tin

Let it drip along the wound, so it will mend

Your color returns spreading into your face

You still didn’t see me, as your eyes start to erase

The redness that lays carpet along the white

The puffiness, the swelling…just like a fight

The sunglasses, that common little disguise

But I still see right through your weary eyes

As you turn to exit the door

I read the last page of this emotional sore

I watch your form as you walk away

It’s as if you knew, tomorrow is another day

Beautiful. Simply beautiful. You have offered such hope here. The prayers, the gentle kindness of so many that reach out to help others in various ways -- silent angels. Often the people suffering never see those angels, but it gives them hope to know they are there. It gives them "tomorrow".

So well written, Ralphie.... it flows beautifully and aims for the heart.

A good poem you've put together here and an enjoyable read. This reminded me of the song Diary by the band Bread and I had forgotten all about it. Good work.
