HoneySuckleA Poem by RalphyFor all my sweet millions of women friends...or so WF says...smile
Honeysuckle
I see you in the past
like a honeysuckle bush
along a cobblestone forest,
I can image you
But,
each step walks me deeper
into the thick of the unknown.
The snapping of twigs
chasing away the fears,
subtracting my vision…
No sun,
darkness
has become the only
light I see.
The present offers
little since the mystery
still quakes my heart,
not sure where I am,
what you really look like…
In the morning,
as the sun rises
and roaster crows,
in the evening, as the stars
twinkle up a silhouette,
or even five feet
from my face,
I do not know you.
Lost in a different
forest…
A different honeysuckle
covers a sweet
yellow flowers
although absence,
the main ingredient …
You
The future melts,
past and present
exposing a magical era
a beautiful moment in time,
the forest shares it’s light
flowers blossom
and honeysuckle
contains flowers
that are inviting,
sweet
soft
moist,
and offer
a blank to the soil
as droplets
ride the pedals
all the way to the ground.
