Hole

Hole

The Hole

While standing by a rather large hole in the ground

Contemplating how deep…the gravel began to slip

Sliding into a sure doom, unlikelihood of survival

The initial tumble drove me to shock, scary darkness

Not only did my life pass before my eye, many lives

After thirty seconds of free falling, my body shook

After one minute, the blackness drew light from my eyes

After two minutes, my nerves began to rattle

After three minutes, my throat became numb, dry

After three minutes ten seconds, my body became numb

After three minutes twenty seconds, I did not care anymore

After three minutes and thirty second I landed on cushion of feathers

After which, I realized, sometimes you just have to give up

To see it is out of your hands.

When we let go of control, great things happen.

There's a good lesson in this, in letting go and taking the blind leap of faith.
