A toast to you ii

A toast to you ii

A Chapter by Ralphy
"

Just when you thought it was safe to go into the kitchen

"

While slowly lifting my eyes to the horizon of the toaster, a ghoulishly, chilling feeling overtook my common sense. There was nothing in the toaster, no bread, toast or ash. I began to shake while searching my mind for answers. What just happen, what just happen to the bread I placed in the toaster, and why are there no reminisce of the toast?

I couldn’t bring myself to touch the toaster, or even move my hand within a short distance of it, just peering over the top that was all I could bring myself to do. Confusion now occupied my mind and soul. The heat from the toaster continued to rise, pinging as the intensity road the metal walls just before escaping out the coils. Sparks popped out of the wall socket, electrifying every area around the stainless-steel sink. I had to jump back just in time, as a welding sound spooked me. It attached a metal pot to the sink.

The floor now covered in water, gave me no inclination of how it got there, for it suddenly appeared. Was it a water-pipe break or something out of the nightmare that chronologically overtook my peaceful world? I froze in place, for I had taken a step towards the frenzy of fear; this would vanquish my seemly small amount of sanity that diminished in a blink of an eye. I watch the water creep towards me as it covered the square blocks one by one.

I stepped back until I managed to escape to the carpet of the living room, brushing the sigh of relief from my lips. Smoke oozed up covering the ceiling with a dark, gassy like look, repainting the ceiling a rich ruby color. The smoke became so thick that the light vanished and only an eerie darkness surrounded the four-walls.

The doorbell rang continuously as if someone with an over excited finger jack-hammered the bell, but to me it was a sigh of relief. Someone is there, some reality will soon return and this deeply insane world will finally cease to exist.

The bell continued to ring as I yelled out, “I’m coming, I’m coming.” I fumbled with the lock while turning the doorknob and as I open the door, the vacuum escaped into the static charged air, lighting up the sky. The ringing stopped and while looking for who was there, I could feel a breath burning the hairs of my neck. My eyes caught a glimpse of what stood on the pouch and I screamed.

Ralphy, you are really becoming amazing with your pieces day by day.

This piece has me glued to the monitor, asking, "When will the next part be out? What happens next"

I am tense in anticipation, you have done exceptionally well my friend.

A wonderful piece
