The Dream

The Dream

A Poem by Ralphy
"

She appears from time to time

"

The Dream

It never fails, as I enter
a world lost to reality,
I seem to stumble on her.
 Yes her! The one challenge
I cannot forsake, which leads me
to this simple question, Why?

Why, in my journeys,
I encounter her…maybe on
the street, in a movie or a
fast-food shop. She mostly is wearing
blue jeans, and a light color blouse.

She has much to say, only not to me
Her touch, although I haven’t felt it
Brings me joy, and stimulation
But not in that sexual kind of way.

She is a guild to my heaven
here on earth, an instrument
that thrills my soul, giving
a taste, a pleasant taste that I want.

Somehow, I introduced myself to her
believing, I have a chance with
destiny.

The drive to meet her
seems to take forever
as my mind races, hampering
my thoughts, ideas and desires.

I pull up in her driveway
And as I walk towards her door
the venetian blinds scurry and bend.
What I saw next, transform my views
forever more.

Her blondish brown hair
With a golden crown
accented by a perfectly
arranged array of freckles
forecast my future.

Crystallized with eyes of blue
she lit up like a joyous star.
Yes, her excitement to see me,
was more then I could image.
And till this very second, of this
very day a Question lingers
 like fuel to a fire.

Who is she, that brings
my destiny to a wakening
moment and shares my eternity
In a whisper of my night?

Author's Note

Ralphy
this is a dream that I have frequent but yet never understood. I thought it might have something to do with a early life crush of a woman named Joy...but who know, it' temps my spirit now and then.

What a special dream to have. I agree that it may be your muse or even your guardian angel coming to you in dreams (that's if you believe in that kind of thing, which I do). I am often visited by mine in my dreams. Sometimes when I lay down in the park on a grassy knoll, I can see his smiling, encouraging face. What a temptation he is in a pleasant, non sexual way.

This is a special poem with a special meaning. Nice work. KUDOS!!

Simply beautiful. You display love and desire not in an erotic way, but with pure joy to be in one another's presence and share your thoughts, dreams, and, above all, love. This is definitely going in my favs. Great write. :)

I agree with Angela. Maybe she is your guardian angel.. :) Or spiritual guide? Or, your future. Wouldn't that be outstanding if you were to actually see this person in the flesh?? Oh WOW! And your dream is actually prophetic.

Nice work Ralphie.... as always!

You are gifted and write from the heart. Creativity is felt in dreams as is passion. I plan to read more of your work. Nice bike, by the way.

What a romantic, longing dream. As your other reviewers have put, maybe she's your muse or future. Whichever.. the dream woman inspires you to write fine poetry. Your use of words is interesting...

'Her blondish brown hair With a golden crown accented by a perfectly arranged array of freckles forecast my future.

that's so descriptive, 'can see her.

Your metre is just a little musical at times but, no matter, your longing is transcribed into a fine, fine poem.

Thank you for sharing

I would agree she could be your muse but perhaps, just perhaps, she is your future. Someone you have yet to meet? The word itself is in your writing....your destiny.

Lovely sentiment and a wonderful romantic poem.

She is your muse, my friend... LOL I had a reoccuring dream when I was about 19 years old until I was about 24 years old of the same man...a beautiful man that I just couldn't seem to figure out or to touch...then I started really writing about him and he sort of went away, at least from my dreams.

I like the way this is written...nicely done.

ok,

hands down, you beat me in romantic poetries. Wonderful fundamentals, and well imparted message.

I am not happy anymore. I have to write something that is as good as this.

A wonderful piece
