Is You

Is You

A Poem by Ralphy

Is You

Standing at the gateway
Of a crystal fortress
One can see a road paved in pearls
That bends, twirls and climbs
The avenues of your mind

The distance is infinite
Like driving towards a mountain
Although appearing close, it still oh so far

The scenery is magnificent
Like the trees rustling in the breeze
Flowers fingered painted on the sides
As the grass cushions the field of green
While an ocean wave’s hello to the shore

The warmth like that of the equator
On a balmy summer day
With the sun shining brightly
Lightly baking all it touches

The sounds like that of an orchestra
The birds on flutes
Distant thunder on drums
The waves clashing on cymbal
The brush on maracas

The aromas that scent the air
Like the red rose in full bloom
The lavender tiger lily open wide
The orchids liberating fragrances
And a simply little pine

But the far most epic of this journey
the vision I see in you
Ponder in you
Hear in you
Smell in you
Want in you
...Is you

Ralphie... this is truly beautiful.

The imagery is magnificent throughout,
but I think what really makes this a true
beauty is the romance of it....

Wow what a compassionate piece of work... the journey to the one you love can be long and sometimes troublesome but when you reach that destination it is well worth it... what an eloquent and divine way to describe that journey.

Well.
When I am generally astounded by poems, it is for their stunning narratives or usage of good words that clearly paint a picture.
Your poem struck out for it's utter simplicity that still conveyed a beautiful message:

The aromas that scent the air

Like the red rose in full bloom

The lavender tiger lily open wide

The orchids liberating fragrances

And a simply little pine.

Such clarity! A beautiful piece.
