Quiet, Silence, Nothing

Quiet, Silence, Nothing

A Poem by AlyssaAbomination

Take this to heart,

That you were trouble from the start.

"Let's just be friends,"

Is just the beginning of the end.

I built myself so high,

Only to be brought down again.

I wanted to fly but you stopped me mid-flight

I thought you were the best,

But you're no different from the rest.

Those three words,

Are like swords to me.

Cutting me apart to ribbons

From the inside out.

Roses are red, violets are blue

But sorry just won't do.

The skies are now a shaded gray,

How did it end up this way?

I can feel my heart breaking,

And my body shaking,

And my fingers aching from

Holding on the sink for sanity to come crawling back,

But heartbroken and insanity come in a pack.

My heart hits the ground,

But it doesn't make a sound.

Because silence is the only thing

Keeping me from getting hurt again.
