Loose Screws

Loose Screws

A Poem by J. B.
"

free-verse

"
Where are you? Step into the light.
My eyes, they will adjust
to the dark that does surround you.
I know you're just lashing out from the pain you've held onto
before I ever came around.
And your bark is just as big as your bite,
just with double rows of sharp enamel words.
We fight tooth and claw for the make up,
or at least we used to.
Now we just have broken skin, bloody knuckles and bruised intentions.

You and I are just two loose screws rolling on the pavement;
The only thing we have in common anymore.

'Loose Screws'
JB,
I have never read anything where I had to put in my birth date to read because of mature content. I am uncomfortable with that. But well, the above writing was very sad as it is the situation for all of us at one time or another. Brokenness can be inner as well as outer of course. Your above writing tells quite a story.
"And your bark is just as big as your bite
just with double rows of sharp enamel words
We fight tooth and claw for the make up,
or at least we used to.
Now we just have broken skin, bloody knuckles and bruised intentions.
The above stanza was quite a example of the emptiness of
finding a position of fairness.
Maybe real communication really is all important but only remembering
to place the other person in a place of respect just as we would like to be ourselves.
Blessings,
Kathy

I like this. Trying to get over the walls she has built after getting hurt. Some make it very hard for a new man to get over. I've seen it before many times. Awesome piece 🙌
