Lead Rope

He's leading her on

Nothing's going to happen

She's like a horse

He's the trainer with the lead rope

 

She will follow him anywhere

She'll do almost anything he asks

Just to be near him

Maybe he'll give her a reward

 

Of course, he's leading her on

He'll never give her a real chance

He's too hung up on his ex

Even though his ex has moved on

 

But the girl he's leading on...

She's there for him

His biggest fan

Even if he won't give her the time of day

 

But she's willing to go at his pace

Whether it be slow or fast

Because he's the only one she wants

The only one she really wants

 

Maybe, one day, he'll want her too

As much as she wants him

And, I know, if and when that day comes

She'll welcome his love with a grin

This is really good. For some reason I didn't like when you mentioned him being hung up on his ex. I might use a different type of phrase there. But that's just me, its good the way it is. Nicely written. You can tell there's something behind this.

That was pretty good. It was very deep and oh so real. Many people follow others because of a strong desire. This poem was well structured and had good, powerful emotion behind it.
