It's Raining

It's Raining

A Poem by Dezaraye

Listen.
Can you hear the rain pitter pattering against the pavement?
It's tracing down the windows ...
slowly, slowly,
and then all at once a streak zipping to its death on the pane below.

It's hammering against my coat, cold seeping through the down, making me shiver ...
and I can't stop shaking.
It's echoing in my mind ...
endlessly ...

Make it stop.

It's beautiful at the same time it's not.
It's hurting my ears at the same time it's comforting my soul.
It's washing away my tears and creating them at the same time.

It's raining outside today ...

It's raining inside today.

I personally love the rain. It is one of the only times I truly sleep well. not sure if it is the hypnotic thumps or knowing that the earth is in a way bathing to become refreshed and anew for us all to witness new world the next day.

This was perfectly flowing and a deep underlying life of it own. I really enjoyed this piece alot.

Great Job!!!!

Wow! I love this. It's a different take in my opinion of a topic so widely used to write poetry on. Kudos for going a different, unique route. My favorite line is:

It's hurting my ears at the same time it's comforting my soul.
It's washing away my tears and creating them at the same time.

Nice job.

Rain....it is sort of a puzzle..I like rain, only when I am out side though, any other time it is annoying..
sometimes I just stand out in the rain..thinking about stuff and sort depressed...for me rain is a sad thing but can bring out the best and the worst of us.your poem brought out the best in me today and so do your stories and your other poems..keep up the good work!

"It's raining outside today.

It's raining inside today."

My favorite lines. Caught my breath. Cleverly written, bittersweet. I like it.

Almost a pleasure/pain principle sort of thing....."It's beautiful at the same time it's not". Emotions on a roller coaster....just great poetry! Lydia

I enjoy your contrasting tones,

It's beautiful at the same time it's not. It's hurting my ears at the same time it's comforting my soul. It's washing away my tears and creating

These few lines could be taken so much deeper. I think you have something amazing here if you flush it out a tad more. Other then wanting more of it, i feel like i identified with the pations in the speaker.
Bravo.

I love the rain too, and I love this poetic take on it. It makes me feel and remember how comforting it can be, yet also saddening, just like the rain. Very descriptive and I really enjoyed this.

Thank you for reading and reviewing my poem and also for being so supportive of me during my down time. I appreciate that more than I can really put into words. Thank you so much, Dezaraye.

Nice. I love the way you play on two aspects of one thing and convey it fluently... or something.

A beautiful subtle sadness. The perfect picture of rain.

It's tracing down the windows ... Slowly, slowly, and then all at once a streak zipping to its death on the pane below.

lovely imagery.

oh- this is pretty. it's delicate and sad but not gut-wrenching. i like the description of the raindrops and hitting the pane.
those lines about "at the same time" worked well with how you laid this out
and the last two lines are simple, and simply they are my favorite.
