Just Breathe

Just Breathe

A Poem by Dezaraye
"

A moment of calm ...

"
Close your eyes

Inhale

Arms extend slowly
Fingers touch
A crescendo deep inside
Begins to build

Exhale

A silhouette on the shore
Waves create a melody
Clouds light as body
Dancing for no one

Inhale

Rays of the sun
Bouncing off the water
Stretching toward the light
Fingers brush the sky

Exhale

Laboriously, slowly
Sway to the sound
A cello pierces the air
The waves crash

Inhale

A distant pulse
Calls from the sea
Light slips into water
Clouds glow brilliantly

Exhale

Feet slide through sand
Spinning in time
Music floats tranquilly
Fingers brush stars

Inhale

A tear falls
Joining the sand
Lapped up by waves
A part of Earth

Exhale

Cello music stills
Waves crash
Movement slows
At peace with self

Open your eyes

It is amazing what we notice when, engulfed by silence, we concentrate what takes place around us. Just breathe. Let no thoughts clutter your mind, and the whole world fills your mind with pictures and sounds.
I love your picturesque speech, how you bring the scene to life. Nicely written. Very enjoyable.

i love wonderfully descriptive stanzas sandwhiched between the simple act of breathing...bring to mind a meditation....a calming work...making one stop and breathe even for just a moment. great job!

This is so very beautiful. I truly loved reading it. I too, love to write a lot about the sea.

I love how you remind us and perhaps yourself to inhale and exhale throughout the poem. It gave the whole piece a meditative quality and I swear I almost stood up and did movements as written. I love the tear drop falling. I don't see that as sad, so much as a release and a freeness that came from taking the time to inhale and exhale. Some tears are quite freeing that way. :)

A beautiful exercise or meditation piece, I can just hear the music of the cello in the background. Thank you for sharing. Debileah

This one got my attention, it doesn't work well with the rest of the poem, because this one rhymes. Otherwise, this is a beautiful poem, I love it.

Wow.... I really liked this one. I could almost feel the sand around me, I could have sworn that I heard the sounds of the ebb and flow of the ocean. This poem is nothing short of amazing.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Wonderfully written descriptions. I love how you compared everything with music - - just my tempo, just my beat. It's perfect for me and it helps me relax (Inhale, exhale). Very nice job. Thanks for sharing! God Bless.
