Addicted to drugs

Addicted to drugs

A Poem by Jovehily Bonilla

"Don't fall in love there's just too much to lose" they said.
I didn't listen.
I fell in love with a girl who was addicted to drugs but that didn't stop me.
I had hope that maybe one day I can become something she's addicted to.
One kiss underneath a wall
Somehow I was able to look at the stars they all seemed to be in her eyes
We had fallen deeply in love
I was the drug that she was addicted to
Oh dear how deeply in love I was.
It's been a year now and I still remember how you quit doing drugs not just for me but for yourself.
I didn't realize that you quitting meant letting me go as well.
Now you're doing drugs again, but you gave up on me.

This was a somber read. Unfortunately, that's what drugs do to people. I've seen it firsthand myself. Your last line, "Now you're doing drugs again, but you gave up on me" was very powerful. You took back the drugs. but you won't take me back? I felt your pain deeply in that line. Great job.
