I am a rock

I am a rock

A Poem by Jovehily Bonilla

"If I never loved I never would have cried"

Yes it’s true.

I am a rock and no one can change me.

Step back and don’t you dare collide with me.

I am a rock and I will hurt you.

I’ll make you go down on your knees and I will feel no shame.

I don’t need love
I don’t need attention

I got my poetry along with the left over pieces of my heart.

I don’t need anyone to rebuild it.

I’m hiding in this empty room

There’s no need to wake my feelings up

They’re sleeping in my memory

Not wanting to be woken

I sit here protected by many walls that no one can break.

I touch no one and no one touches me.

I am a rock and I’m numb.

I enjoyed this poem, the symbolism was on point, "There's no need to wake my feelings up, they're sleeping in my memory not wanting to be woken" is the line that I thought was very powerful, there is so much about this poem that I feel is very connectable, not only with love, but failure, and struggles. Well done, thank you for sharing you work to the public, great job. :)
