Love Song

Love Song

A Poem by Babbette Francis

I read the words of a poet.  Words so warm and kind
his essense gently connecting to this heart of mine.
He spoke of moonbeams dancing and sunlight so warm
I could feel every word working like a charm.
Emotions stirred inside, strange as it was for me
I sensed a sensual man, through his poetry.
I drew closer to every word I read, feeling him by my side
I dreamt of perfect love and found my paradise.
Deeper, I began falling and knowing all the while
I should be more careful with my heart; too fragile.
As I came to the end of his love song, saddened I came to be.
For his perfectly written words, were not written for me.

There was a old song ...called dairy and it was on the same subject.. about reading the words and finding out they were not written for you.. such sad longing..

..the beauty of this writing as that I'm sure both readers and authors alike can relate to the wise and
insightful meaning that speaks of life, and yearning, the opportunity to take a chance and adventure
into the unknown, the wanting, the desire reflects a state of paradise lost and found in the minds

ability to believe that there are greater forces at work, and what becomes of the dreams
that never quite bloomed and where does that put faith, the faith to believe that tommarow
my be the brightest day yet lived. This is a masterpiece in all perspective, and a pleasure to. read

Wow BF, this is a dazzling poem. Very warm and sensual. For some reason it makes me miss the Phantom even more (he was the one that inspired "Poetry Man" which is similar to this poem). Wonderful job as usual :-)

I hear ya girl. But this is a great poem and if your time with him inspired this writing, then you have something remarkable to hang on to forever. No one can take your words away ...

So beautiful and sad at the same time... to feel the love but then realize it wasn't really yours... words can be so powerful when written in poetic form just like this piece... OUTSTANDING as always

Relationships and love songs are a slightly cliche thing to write on, but still I love this poem. I understand this emotion, sense it sometimes when I am reading love songs. Some of the words seemed to have been switched around for the simple sake of rhyming though, and it makes it sound less natural and flowing. For instance, "saddened I came to be". I've only ever heard of Yoda speaking in this manner. However, it still conveys the image and does not disrupt the rhyme scheme of the poem, but if there is ever an opportunity where you could change it and still rhyme, this would make it all the better. A very good read! Best of luck to you!

Beautifully written words here, though your ending was not the expected one. Seems blue is the perfect color for it after all. This was a good romantic poem, you told the emotions of reading a dedication wonderfully.
