Gimmick

Gimmick

A Poem by Robert J. Huntley

This will be another
long night in a long life

Stomach aching
for a better meal

Will either of us
make anything of this

Be forewarned
of the gimmicks

Flowing better
than the purpose

All anyone can do
is wait out the waste

Night falls from daylight
with morning hot on it heels

Long hours spent
without a receipt

About
After a year long self imposed exile from Writer's Cafe I have returned. I will not be re-posting whatever pieces I lost in the great crash. If you are one of the few who read my older work, and for.. more..
